To overcome this hot summer, we have tried a variety of juices and cold coffees but, still sweating days are ahead and we want to try something new.
This time let's try a chikku ice cream to chill our loved ones especially our kids.
So let's make them surprise with chikku ice cream.
Ingredients
6 chikus (sapodilla or sapota)
50 ml of fresh cream
Sugar, one cup
30 ml of milk
50 ml of milk powder
To start with the preparation wash the chikkus and peel off its skin.
In a food processor combine the sliced chikkus to create a puree.
Combine the milk, milk powder, fresh cream, and sugar in a bowl. The components should be thoroughly mixed using an electric beater or whisk. Make sure to keep lumps away.
Now add the chilly puree and combine the mixture well. Or, you might use a hand beater to combine all the ingredients.
After the ice cream mixture has been blended, place it in an air-tight container and freeze it. Remix the ice cream base and refreeze it in the same container after two hours.
Remove the ice cream base and re-churn it after about three hours.
Freeze it overnight in an air-tight container. Serve chilled and add more chiku as a garnish.
A note on chikku
Chikku or sapota has a fleshy brown exterior and a sweet, gritty interior. Although it is not widely consumed by people, it has a lot of nutrients, vitamins, and minerals. Also, it supports your body's ability to resist illness and maintain health.
But because it contains a lot of calories, it belongs in the same category of fruits like oranges, mangoes, jackfruit etc. Despite this, individuals incorporate it into their regular diets because to the numerous health advantages of chikku.
You can furthermore increase your intake of potassium, calcium, vitamin C, vitamin a, and other minerals by eating chikku.
